Ceradyne Inc ECH Helmet

The first widely adopted Enhanced Combat Helmet (ECH Helmet), was produced by Ceradyne Inc (Contact M67854-09-D-3060). In 2009 the USMC began searching for its next combat helmet. Taking inspiration from the ACH and LWH, MSA, Gentex, Ceradyne, and BAE Systems all competed to win the USMC bid. By 2013, Ceradyne won the contact.

GENTEX Corp ECH Helmet

The second iteration of the Enhanced Combat Helmet (ECH) was made by Getex, beating out Ceradyne (Contact M67854-17-D-1221) for the USMC 2017 contact.

GENTEX Corp High Cut ECH HElmet

The most recent iteration of the ECH Helmet, is that of the High Cut ECH Helmet, produced by Gentex Corp (Contact M67854-17-D-1221). In 2019 the USMC began search for a new integrated helmet system, or IHS - comparable to the US Army’s IHPS. Gentex thus field tested and produced several differing low, mid and high cut helmets, landing on the design seen below.
